Citizen ATTESA EVER SINCE: The Calendar Calculates the Moon Phase, Not the Gear.
CitizenATTESA has added a new limited edition to its collection, inspired by a winter morning. Citizen ATTESA EVER SINCEWith reference number BY1000-69L, a dark blue dial, moon phase indicator at 6 o'clock, and a Super Titanium case, only 2.400 units will be produced worldwide. The watch will go on sale in November 2026. CitizenThe price predicted by [company name] is $1.200.

The moon phase is calculated by the calendar, not by gears.
The most interesting aspect of the watch is how the moon phase indicator works. In mechanical watches, the moon phase is usually shown with a toothed disc. The moon's approximately 29,5-day cycle is roughly replicated by the tooth ratios, so the indicator drifts over time and needs to be manually corrected.
CitizenThe Luna Program in the Cal. H874 works differently. The watch calculates the moon phase for that day based on the date information from its perennial calendar and automatically adjusts the display. So the moon phase is a result of the date, not an approximation from a gear chain. As long as the calendar is correct, the moon phase is also correct. The perennial calendar automatically corrects month ends and leap years until February 28, 2100.
The accuracy of the calendar is also maintained by radio signals. The H874 is a global radio-controlled mechanism that automatically corrects the time and calendar by receiving time signals. When no signal is received, the accuracy is plus or minus 15 seconds per month. The mechanism also has a north-south transit function. Since the illuminated side of the moon appears from the opposite side in the southern hemisphere, the indicator can be rotated accordingly.
A perpetual calendar that works with light.
The H874 features an Eco-Drive mechanism, meaning it draws its energy from natural or artificial light and requires no battery replacement. CitizenAccording to [the manufacturer], it lasts 2,5 years in power-saving mode on a full charge. There is also a power reserve indicator on the dial. Citizen It launched its first light-powered watch in 1976, and 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of Eco-Drive. EVER SINCE is one of the models announced this year.
The world time function is called Direct Flight. The user can switch between 24 time zones simply by turning the crown, and the time and calendar change according to the selected city.

Dial: morning light falling on a snowy forest
Citizen The design is based on the idea of the morning sun hitting a snow-covered forest. Subtle patterns reminiscent of mountain range silhouettes are interspersed among shades of deep blue, with bright details added to convey the cold, crisp winter air. Metallic accents on the indices allude to mountain peaks and the light filtering through the trees. The moon phase window features a white moon shining against the blue sky. Citizen This month, they state that the design is exclusive to this model.
Some parts of the dial are made from recycled materials. Citizen It doesn't specify which parts they are.
Super Titanium and Platinum Coating
ATTESA since 1987 Citizen's titanium watch series. The case and bracelet are made from the brand's Super Titanium, meaning surface-hardened titanium. Citizen They say this material is 40 percent lighter than stainless steel and has a surface at least five times harder.
This model also features a Duratect Platinum coating on the surface. Platinum is actually a soft metal, with a Vickers hardness between 50 and 100 HV. CitizenThe surface hardening process increases this value to between 1.000 and 1.200 HV. For comparison, the hardness of stainless steel is approximately 200 HV. The result is a surface that has the clear and almost transparent silver luster of platinum but is much more scratch-resistant. The case is 41,5 mm in diameter, the glass is sapphire with anti-reflective coating, and it is water-resistant to 100 meters.

Bersenti comment
The EVER SINCE's dial tells a story of a winter morning, but what makes the watch interesting is the logic behind it. A mechanical moon phase indicator is an approximate calculation independent of the calendar and requires correction every few years. In the H874, however, the moon phase is derived from a calendar corrected by radio signals and adjusting itself until 2100. Every part of the watch feeds into the accuracy of the others.
With a projected price of $1.200, the EVER SINCE boasts a titanium case, sapphire crystal, perpetual calendar, world time, and a battery-free power system, making it unmatched by mechanical watches. This watch is designed to display the correct date, time, and moon phase the day it's taken out, even if it's been stored in a drawer for a long time – something very few watches can do.
